The 30th Annual Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts Festival takes place April 17 thru May 9.
Sponsored by the City of Fairfax in cooperation with George Mason University and the arts community of Fairfax, Spotlight on the Arts continues its commitment to support and encourage the awareness of cultural opportunities in the greater Fairfax community. It has grown into a significant three-week festival and is now considered one of Virginia’s foremost arts festivals. With outstanding music performances from leading musicians, quality arts exhibitions, dance (both classical and modern) stimulating theater performances, community activities and events including The Arts mean Business – an Art Walk through Old Town Fairfax highlighting businesses with an artistic twist, “Artful Living” an Art Show in association with Our Daily Bread, and the hits of last year including Fashion in Motion, this year with the new twist of wearable art! This year’s Festival of youth, of music, of dance and so much more all highlight the emerging vibrant art scene in historic Old Town Fairfax.

SpringFest Fairfax Saturday, April 25th from 10am to 4pm @ The Workhouse Arts Center.
Spend the day at SpringFest Fairfax to learn about environmental projects and programs, taste food from around the world, play games, ride ponies and so much more! Admission is free; some activities require a $5 wristband. 

Taste of Vienna Saturday, April 25th from 11am to 8pm at 400 Center Street, Vienna, VA. A family friendly event showcasing the best food Vienna, Virginia has to offer. Proceeds from this event will benefit The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department.

Healthy Strides Community 5K/10K Race Saturday, April 25th at Burke Lake Park. 
A portion of the proceeds will help fund summer camp opportunities for children living in homeless shelters and transitional housing in Fairfax County.  Bring your old running shoes; we participate in the Nike Reuse-a-Shoe program!  Sign up by April 8 and SAVE $5 off registration.

 
Fairfax Civil War Day is going to be held on April 25, 2015 10am to 5pm at Historic Blenheim Estate, 3610 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22030. This event features living history, house tours, period music, wagon rides, firing demos, talks and more!



Our Daily Bread presents "Artful Living" on May 1st from 7pm  to 10pm.  This event will be held at the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center in Fairfax City. Enjoy  evening of Art and community to help Our Daily Bread Fairfax VA do more for Fairfax County area residents who are working toward financial self-sufficiency. Enjoy a juried art show, wine and appetizers from Dolce Vita Cucina Italiana, craft brew tasting, and lively Latin-jazz music from Batida Diferente. Our celebrity auctioneer Ken Plum will auction off some fabulous items, including a Washington Nationals/Jayson Werth baseball experience, an evening at Wolf Trap, a Wintergreen vacation rental and a wonderful wine basket. The Grand Opening of Old Town Square, the brand new park in Old Town Fairfax, is schedule for May 2nd! The park will be open to the public from 9am to 11am with musical performances by 7th Position and Peter McCory, followed by the Derby-Q BBQ, Blues, Bourbon & Brews Festival from 2pm to 7pm. This community festival will feature specialty beer and bourbon tastings along with a variety of BBQ vendors, live blues bands and the Kentucky Derby will be shown on the big screen. The 5th Annual Fairfax CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Run for the Children 8K Race & 3K Run/Walk will be held in historic Fairfax City on May 2, starting and ending at the Fairfax Courthouse complex on Chain Bridge Road. The races start at 8:00 am. This is a great venue with an attractive USATF certified course, ample free parking, wonderful food, fantastic prizes and raffle items, making this a must run event! BIKE TO WORK DAY 5.15.15! On Friday May 15, 2015 Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association invite you to join over 10,000 area commuters for a celebration of bicycling as a clean, fun, and healthy way to get to work. Attend one of 79 pit stops throughout D.C., Maryland, and Virginia to receive refreshments, and be entered into a raffle for  bicycles being given away.
